One aircraft, countless possibilities: what the FANTM 4TD can really do

Technology insight. One platform, several sensors, and a range of services that grows out of the same proven hardware.

Many of our clients first come to us through a single service: perimeter surveillance, a thermographic roof inspection, or an aerial view for a property listing. What is rarely visible is that in almost every case the same aircraft is flying. The FANTM 4TD is the technical heart of our entire offering, one system that delivers very different insight depending on the task.

This article explains what sits inside the aircraft and which services it makes possible.

The technology at a glance

The FANTM 4TD is not an ordinary camera drone but a multi sensor platform built for enterprise work. Instead of a single camera it carries several specialised sensors at the same time.

Sensor / featureCapabilityWhat it is used for
48 MP wide cameraHigh resolution overview imageryProperty photography, site views
48 MP tele camera with 112x hybrid zoomExtreme detail at long distancePerimeter checks without approaching the building
Thermal camera (up to 1280 x 1024)Makes heat sources and heat loss visibleThermography, night detection of people, plant inspection
Laser rangefinderPrecise distance and size measurementSurveying, object identification
NIR auxiliary light (near infrared)Improved vision in complete darknessNight patrols, discreet observation with no visible light
IP55 weather protectionOperable in rain, dust, heat and cold (minus 30 to 50 degrees Celsius)Year round outdoor service, also in difficult conditions
Up to 54 minutes of flight timeLong, uninterrupted missionsExtended patrols across large estates
Dock 3 compatibilityFully automatic launch, flight and landing with no pilot on site24/7 readiness, immediate alarm response
Sensors and platform

One and the same aircraft can patrol a property, run a thermal check on a solar array and then deliver precise survey data, all in a single night and without changing equipment or crew.

What this means for you

Because the technology is so versatile, our range of services keeps growing. At present we cover, among others:

  • Security and surveillance: perimeter patrols, anti squatter checks on vacant properties, alarm verification and property protection during private events, at night as well thanks to NIR night vision.
  • Thermography and building checks: thermal analysis of roofs, photovoltaic arrays and façades reveals heat loss, defective solar cells or moisture problems before they turn into costly damage.
  • Inspection and infrastructure: checks on roofs, walls, fences and technical installations in hard to reach places, including continuous construction progress documentation.
  • Surveying: precise terrain data, volume calculations and mapping for construction and landscape planning.
  • Media and property: high quality aerial stills and video for marketing, viewings and documentation.

All of these services rest on the same proven hardware and the same safety and privacy standards you already know from us.

Questions

Asked often

  • No. For thermography the aircraft usually flies slower, lower and at a different camera angle than on a security patrol. The hardware is identical, but the flight mission is configured individually for each assignment.

  • Yes. The IP55 rating allows operation in rain and dust, and the NIR auxiliary light together with the thermal camera enable reliable imagery even in complete darkness.

  • Because the technical basis is already in place, new services such as additional survey products can usually be delivered without buying new hardware. The effort lies mainly in mission planning, not in the technology.
